5You can buy a helmet without trying it on  Dec 15, 2006 By Jan in NC
They aren't kidding. You really can adjust this helmet to fit your head. Assuming you aren't a circus freak. I did some research on Consumer Reports and bicycle websites and chose this model and bought it direct from Amazon. It takes time to adjust, but follow their instructions and see info online on how to fit a helmet right and this one is a winner.

3It's like the Volvo of biking helmets  Dec 13, 2008 By David Bauchelle "literal philosopher"
Well... Volvo from the 80s and 90s, anyway. It's a bit boxy, and not terribly aerodynamic nor sexy, as other reviewers here have mentioned. Seems a bit heavy. However, I have no fear that when the day finally comes that I bounce it off the pavement with my noggin inside (as always happens in the end), it will ably protect me from serious injury.
Also, one bill retention point was broken when mine arrived, which was kind of a pity, as I'd been considering using it. I now see that other reviewers have had similar experiences to THAT, as well.

In the end, it's more than adequate for the money, but it won't be helping you pick up dates at the trailhead. ;)

4Good, inexpensive helmet  Oct 21, 2008 By Q "optimistic victim"
I purchased the Bell helmet frankly because it was inexpensive. Though I have not crash tested it, and hope not to for awhile, I am pleased with its comfort, easy adjustment, and snug yet comfortable fit.

5saved my head!  Aug 19, 2007 By David W. Heide
This helmet does everything it's supposed to do! I flipped over my handlebars last week going 15-20 mph. Landed right on my head. My chin, hands, arm, and shoulder are pretty messed up, but my head is fine! Nice cheap helmet, pretty easy to adjust, and does its job. I bought another one to replace the first one cause I know it will work.

5cheap but good  Jan 27, 2010 By clyde3789
Nothing wrong with this helmet. It does the job for most heads and is not bad to look at.I found it at Wal-Mart for less than $30. Easy adjusting and excellent fit. What's not to like?
