5Great Item, Great Price  Jun 28, 2010
After checking the prices on many of the walking poles I was amazed at getting two of these made by Coleman for less than one of the other brands. Coleman has been around for long before me and their products are always great. The poles are light weight, strong and great to use.

4walking with ease  May 10, 2010
These poles are very easy to mesure for height. The straps are nice and secure and the hand grips are very comfortable. I highly recommend these trekking poles.

5Great Multi-purpose Pole  Apr 10, 2010
I bought this pole to carry with me when I walk my dog. Although I'm not using it as a trekking pole per se, its light weight and the ease with which the length can be extended make it perfect for warding off loose/attacking dogs! I must add that I have tried out the pole for its original purpose and it works fine. The handle is comfortable and the pole itself is reasonable sturdy but for serious trekking, a stronger pole would be preferable. This item represents good value for the price paid.

1Broken Almost Immediately  Mar 29, 2010
Pole broke almost immediately. Very fragile and the components neither stay together nor come apart very well - by which I mean that to get the thing to extend takes a lot of twisting stuff around and then it comes ALL THE WAY APART. Then, getting it to lock into place either in extended or compressed configuration is another exercise is twisting stuff forever. Now, however, the thing is in two pieces and won't give up the middle section for anything. Useless. DO NOT BUY.

3Excellent Trekking Pole, less than accomodating company.  Mar 12, 2010
The only reason I do not give this trekking pole 5 stars is because after just a few weeks use, the rubber tip (that protects wooden floors, tile, etc.) from the metal tip wore out. That in and of itself would still not have been enough to lose this wonderful trekking pole a five star rating from me. Coleman, a company I usually hold in the highest regard, is the reason for the mediocre rating.

I called Coleman customer service to order a couple of replacement tips. I tend to use the trekking pole in areas where the rubber tip is the better choice. I was told by the customer service representative that Coleman did not have repalcement rubber tips because there was no demand for them. When I asked if my only oppion was to simply buy another trekking pole, she said it was. She offered no other assistance, and seemed to indicate that no replacement were available, anywhere.

It took me about a minute from the time I hung up with the Coleman customer service representative to find a replacement tip here on Amazon.com. I did a search for Trekking Poles and low and behold, a couple of replacement tips showed up. I ordered the Leki Rubber Fitness Walktip -- they come packaged 2 for about $10.00 (US) -- and hoped they would fit.

The Leki tips arrived today. I put one on my Coleman Trekking Pole, and it fits better and is much better designed than the original Coleman tip.

I will recommend this product with reservations. If you buy one, and are planning to use it where the rubber tip is the better choice, buy the Leki tips, too. That way you won't be without your trekking pole while you wait for the replacements that Coleman can't seem to get.
