What a difference the Cool Bandana has made!!! Jun 19, 2007

My husband works in a hot factory, has asthma, and doesn't sweat so up until now he's absolutely DREADED the summer months because he knew he was in for 3+ months of misery, headaches, no appetite, and the constant worry of suffering heat prostration as he has several times in the past. This is the FIRST summer that he's been able to work in 95+ outside (MUCH hotter in the factory) temperatures and not have to deal with a splitting headache, or an upset stomach!! He now comes home with an EMPTY lunch bucket, and isn't physically drained! In addition he discovered that somehow the bandana has made it easier for him to breathe as well...we haven't figured that one out yet, but what a plus for a person suffering from asthma! Quite a few of the guys at work have been asking him about the Cool Bandana and one man, with only 30% use of his lungs, is going to try one after my husband shared with him how the Bandana helps him breathe easier in the heat.
I chose the Cool Bandana because my husband has a fairly small neck, and with working in a factory one has to be careful not to get one so large that there is a risk of catching the ends in a machine. If you have a larger neck, you may need to look for a longer one. My husband wears a medium size shirt and the Cool Bandana is long enough to meet in the front when tied.
As an added note, on the first use we soaked the bandana for 15 minutes and after that we didn't need to soak it as long...somewhere around 5 to 10 minutes, depending on how much it dried out and how much one wants the bandana to swell. My husband also discovered that if he put his bandana on 30-45 minutes before heading out into the heat, his body adjusts much quicker once in the heat. So, if you want a way to keep cool this summer, get one these Cool Bandanas!!! They are a quality product, last all day, and I received my order in a timely manner. Thank you Texas Medical!!

Keeping Cool All Day! Oct 24, 2007

I ordered 4 of these "cool" bandanas and am staying and looking cool. They really work! We had an Indian Summer day here in Maine this week, and I wore mine while I was raking leaves. No sweat--literally!! I'm giving the others to family as stocking stuffers. I can't wait for warm weather so I can wear mine when I exercise outdoors, but I am already wearing it indoors and "keepin' cool." Great product.

Thank you heat-relief! May 12, 2011
By Jenne Schrader I live in Southern Nevada and it gets very hot during the summer. I'm quite intolerant to heat, I can get a heat stroke from walking outside for 10 minutes! I had one of these when I was younger and I figured if it helped then, I know it will help me now. I bought one and it came very quickly.
After soaking it for about 25 minutes in cold water, I was a little worried when it hadn't fully expanded, but after taking it out (in fear of over soaking) and dabbing it so it wouldn't drip, about an hour or two later it became very full and the beads were distributed evenly.
I LOVE how it feels. I'm a college student, and I actually have a cold right now, so it came just in time to help bring my temperature down for Final's Week. At night I rested it over my eyes/forehead and man it felt wonderful. It helps me do the house chores during the day without having to crank the air conditioner up. It's also very relaxing to have it around my neck while sitting in front of a hot computer during home work.
It has been full and cool for about a day now and I'm sure it won't be drying out any time soon. My body temperature warms it up so I like to refresh it by dipping it in cool water every few hours. Taking it off and letting the time away from the body cool it down a little also works (I set it on my bed under the fan and it becomes ice cold again).
I highly recommended these, in fact I'll be buying a few more as gifts for family (and a few for myself in different colors).
Just remember to not over soak it, the tag says 15 minutes but the paper it came with says 25 at the most, so even if it's not fully expanded, just spread the beads out and put it on, in time it will expand. I haven't had any problems with my red bandanna's colors bleeding or anything like that either.

colors bleed Jun 30, 2010
By Reyna Thera Lorele I've tried a few similar bandanas from different companies. These are okay, but the red one does bleed when you soak it in water--so wear it with a red shirt! The blue one had a different pattern than the one pictured. I gave it away with the warning that the colors might bleed. I would try a different company for these.
