What a Difference Sep 13, 2008
By Cathy Johnson I have been walking for about the last 6 months and have been doing very well. I am older (56) and knew that I really needed to do some weight training as well. My friend bought a vest and was telling me about it so I purchased one. This one is great. Has a pocket for my cell phone and is very durable and comfortable. What a difference in my body after walking with this vest for 2 weeks. It works my abs, legs, and arms. It is terrific!

Horrible Smell - Had to Return It Aug 29, 2009
By Middle-aged toothbrusher I was looking forward to using this weight vest (which I'd asked my wife to get me for my birthday), but when I opened the box containing the weights I was overwhelmed by a horrible petrochemical-like smell. The box for the weights also had an oily-like stain on it. After airing out the box of weights for a few days, the smell remained extremely strong. I didn't want to inhale these fumes while doing aerobic exercise, so I decided to return the vest.
Before returning the vest, we contacted the manufacturer to complain. They said they'd received a similar complaint from another customer about the vest. They checked on the materials used in manufacturing the weights (the vest and weights were made in China) and told us the weights were made of silica gel. When I emailed them back to inform them that silica gel is odorless, they didn't respond. Also, the casing for the weights obviously wasn't silica gel. So we returned the vest to Amazon.
This all was frustrating because, apart from the horrid smell, I thought the vest was well-designed when I tried it on. It was a lot less like a flack jacket than I'd thought it would be and it was easily adjustable. Also, the silica gel weights were flexible, so I suspect they wouldn't have been stiff and uncomfortable while exercising. But because of the smell, I never did actually try out the vest.

Great Vest Jul 28, 2008
By Middle Age tennis player I love this vest because I am 4'11" and I can adjust it to my size. I can add weights as I increase the resistance of my workout. It also makes you sweat. I recommend this product.

Weighted Vest Jul 07, 2008
By Maggie McDade I got this vest to help build bone density in my back. Can't say if it is working yet but can say vest is comfortable, easy to put on and off, and fits my body (very adjustable). However, when I do cardio before I put on the vest for lunges...it is not very breathable. Overall, a good deal.

A decent buy Jul 09, 2008
By C. Gillis I use this every day on my walks with the kids. It definitely helps me sweat more and have a better workout. Power walking with it is ideal. the pedometer is pretty flimsy (doesn't work properly), but that not why one would buy the vest. I thought I would start with the 20lb version, but I'm glad I didn't because it not the same as lifting. This is constant weight for 45 minutes or more, so start slowly with a few weights and keep adding until you're comfortable with the full 10. I've had it for about four weeks now and I still only have half the weights.
Although I am satisfied with my purchase and it does the job, one little thing bugs me and that is that the vest is short and doesn't even come close to covering the belly aread. It's a bit annoying to feel like the vest is riding up, so be aware of that. I'm pretty sure it's the case with all of them, so one just has to live with it.
