The original Lifa baselayers were extremely tough and effective. I still have many of the first that I bought in the 80's. Yes, I have used them every winter and part of the summer since then. The only reason for buying more is damage from abrasion from leg movement and arm swing. The new Helly Hansen is softer and thicker than the originals. Softness was never a complaint for me. The thicker mesh of the new model does not vent as well, but still does a fine job of wicking moisture. My main complaint is the new waist band. The elastic tends to roll and twist. The old style never had that problem.

By Tiffy I bought these for my husband and he's already used them for skiing and running. He's always outside even in the cold weather so a good baselayer is something I always hear him talking about. He said these fit extremely well, but I ordered a size smaller than I usually would have so they fit tight on him, which he likes for a base layer.

By johnnym nice and toasty! i bought the small and im 32x32 170lbs and they fit good. i also bought the warm version (thicker) but in those i would buy a medium if you are my size
