Excellent! Mar 26, 2009
By C. Bennett I just found out about the Icebugs while in Alaska. I had the hardest time staying upright on the ice and my friend was walking so easily that I had to ask how she did it. She loaned me her Icebugs and I could not only walk on the ice, but run without any problem. They are water-resistant, very light and very comfortable. I went to the supermarket and was afraid to slip on the tile floor, but the cleats really retract in the sole and you walk on the rubber pads of the sole. I live in Chicago, where icy sidewalks are so common, and bought my own pair. What a wonderful product and a good time to buy them on sale at the end of the winter!!!

Bug green runners Jan 19, 2009
By Grammie I purchased these spiked runners last winter and have had two seasons to evaluate them. They are designed to be worn in icy conditions and while they are described as trail runners I use them primarily for road running. They have multiple little spikes that are set to improve traction on ice and retract slightly into the rubber when contacting pavement or stone and they really work well. I get good purchase into even glare ice where their performance is most impressive. They run full in the toe box to accommodate a winter sock, they are at least water resistant if not water proof...and I really like the color poison..which is somewhat of a chartreuse. They are far superior to trying to run in Yak trax at least for my small feet..

One major problem - the cleats fall out Dec 08, 2009
By D. Cunningham These sneakers are the very good on snow & ice. We have a lot of it in northern Vermont. There have one small problem and one major problem:
1. They take a while to break in, so expect some blisters. Not the end of the world.
2. I have used them about 15 times and 7 of the cleats have already fallen out. Not great.
