Under desk consideration: Standard Pedal Exerciser pedal height tops out at 13". Isokinetics' Deluxe Pedal Exerciser is best option for under desk use, with a pedal top out height of 10.5". Direct from manufacturer pricing means you save more. 1 year warranty from Isokinetics Inc. Now comes with Dycem anti-slip strips to place under the feet to help solve a common problem of slipping on smooth floors. Made of high quality 1" chrome-plated steel tubing, with 4 flat-bottom rubber feet to grip the floor, and adjustable pedal straps to keep your feet in place. Has solid construction, sturdy feet and an effective resistance range from light to noticeably stiff. Appropriate for elderly exercise as well as for a modest aerobic workout. Can be used for upper body exercises by placing it on a table and using your arms, or for lower body exercises placed on the floor and pedaled with your feet. At 5 pounds, it is easy to move around and store. Sit with legs at close to a 90 degree angle. Start your exercise program slowly and gradually work up to 20 minutes of exercise at least 3 times a week. Please note that like all pedal exercisers of this design, the resistance knob housing can become hot after using vigorously, so take care when touching after heavy use. We found it does not heat up much when used at lower resistance levels. ALWAYS consult a physician before beginning this, or any other, exercise program. For more rigorous needs, consider our Deluxe or Magnetic models.

5Review of Isokinetics Pedal Exerciser  Jul 23, 2007 By Fred Fisher
I purchased this exerciser for my mother (82 years of age). She absolutely loves it and uses it constantly while sitting in front of the television. Due to hot weather and mosquitoes, she is unable to walk outside, and this little exerciser has more than substituted for her lack of outdoor walks. She also uses it for her arms and is very happy with the results. The Isokinetics Pedal Exerciser is well engineered and constructed for stability. It is not a toy, but a very good piece of exercise equipment. The design, quality and price are all pluses. I am very glad I made this purchase.

5Good quality at a good price  Mar 30, 2007 By Bill Nicholas
They all look the same but the price range is big. I can say that I believe this model is as good as they get. The quality is high and the pedal resistance can go all the way up to a a pretty hard workout, if you want to. I like the 4 big feet on this model. I think they will wear better than the kind I've seen on other models, and they look cooler!

5Skip the $9.99 exerciser, Get this  Apr 17, 2007 By N.F.
I tried one of these for $9.99 from a different site/seller, and went through 2 of them in 5 weeks (including the time it took to ship the 2nd one out). My money is too tight to pay much more, but I got a refund from them and bought this one. It's been about 6 weeks, and this one still seems solid. I think the big rubber "feet" on it helps a lot.
It's needed a dab of oil a couple times to stop squeaking, but that's no big deal.

5Notes from a computer potatoe...  Jan 28, 2009 By Oldtechnohobbiest "Mr. Nobody"
Well, I've had mine for about two weeks...suprisingly I actually use it!

First of all, if you are indifferent to exercise equipment (like me) it's usually a waste of money to buy any of them. But this under the desk type equipment caught my eye while surfing Amazon.com. Fits under the desk/table eh? Small, lightweight, comes assembled?--under twenty bucks.

BINGO!

So I get it, and a set of 10 pound ankle weights. After reading all the reviews, and figuring no matter what happened I could get it to work for me just the way I want it to. It does.

Here is how my theory works. I don't mind sweating, I don't mind working--as long as I'm paid for it. Exercise for health--HA! Exercise so I can live longer--HA, HA! (I laugh at the idea). However, wouldn't it be nice to have something under the desk (just for those few impulses) where I don't have to set it up or move it out of the way----or ANYTHING?

Yes it would...it sounds like my cup of tea.

I found that after 12 hours on the computer a day, I'd get about one hour exercise on this thing without me resisting the impulse. That's an hour a day of exercise I wouldn't have gotten....not bad, right? Right.

So here is my bottom line information.

1. My measurements show the top of the peddle at 12 1/2 inches from the floor (when the peddle is at the top of its stroke).
2. With my leg on it (at the top) it comes in at 30 inches even.
3. The bottom of my computer table is 29 inches. (REMEMBER THIS).
4. The bottom of the peddle (at its lowest position) is 4 1/2 inches from the floor.

So, what does this all mean? Well, it means you are gonna have to push the peddles in front of you some so when your leg is at the top position it won't hit the table/desk. When I pushed mine out about six inches my knee cap dropped two inches.

Plus, remember those ankle weights? Mine are ten pounds (five pounds each). I found I got a ton of exercise using them...but I also found they were too unconfortable. So, I strapped them to the peddles (five pounds each). Now--you won't get as much exercise with them on the peddles instead of your ankles.......but you WILL get more exercise with them on the peddles than you would if you didn't have them.

SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOoooooooooooooo all in all, I like this product. I feel it is for those of us who are the walking wounded, or like me--just not into exercise (at all). I recommend it for all of us who sit too much, and also for those of us who spend too much time behind the computer or tv.

Just remember, any exercise beats no exercise.

bye!

1Not designed for everyday use  May 02, 2008 By Lewis R. Raszewski
Used one every day for a week and it broke. Also, a word of warning: it generates a *lot* of heat when in use. I brushed it after a 20-minute session with a bare ankle and gave myself a first degree burn.

Might be fine if you want something for *very* light duty, maybe for the arms. But if you set this on the floor in front of your couch before a Law and Order marathon, they're going to be doing a post-mortem on it before the last commercial break
