5Great for going bike riding!  Oct 26, 2007 By Mary Santos
I wear this when I go bike riding and it fits my needs perfectly and eliminates the need for a basket on my bike. The water bottle holds approx. 16 oz of water and is great for pit stops. The pack is very roomy and has a clip for your latch keys. I also keep snacks, a map, pepper spray, cell phone, and money in my pack with lots of room to spare. It even has a spot that you can put your iPod and fish the earbud wire out of the pack. I'd buy this again.

4nice!  Jan 29, 2008 By Ingus
it's exactly the bag i need for short workout / hiking / bike outings. the water bottle isn't that big, only 16 oz or so. if you plan to be out for more than a few hours, imho this won't be enough.

the material for the pouch itself is water resistant, and seems / feels sturdy enough to last for a while. however the buckles are all plastic, and a bit on the thin / fragile side. zippers are also all plastic, so treat it genteelly. an odd design choice had the key ring in the same compartment as the mp3 player, which means unless your mp3 player is fully covered with screen protectors and whatnot, it'll get all scratched up by the keys. like i said, odd design choice.

personally i wouldn't pay for this bag at its full asking price due to the list of problems above. but if you ever find this on sale, even with said short comings, it's still quite a bargain.

1Flimsy & floppy  Mar 26, 2009 By Woofie Mom
I purchased this waist pack because I liked the color and the bottle holder and I thought JanSport would be good quality. I was so disappointed after I used it that I donated it to charity.

The fabric is thin and floppy which makes it very hard to zip even when using both hands. The water bottle holder is a great idea, but every time I bent over the bottle would be pushed up and try to fall out, some times it actually DID fall out.

I also did not like the way the waist strap was made, the buckle ended up being in the middle of my back. I prefer to have the buckle right next to the pack so that it is easy to access. It was very awkward where it was. Plus the strap material is so thin and soft it kept folding and twisting.

The color was the only thing I liked about it, it was very true to the color in the picture.

5Nice Bag!  Oct 05, 2008 By David Cox "lunatic fringe dweller"
I bought this bag to carry stuff and have easy access to a beverage and it fits the bill perfectly. It has adequate cargo space, and I use it to carry a book, bandana, car keys, wallet, cell phone or train ticket (although not all at once... it's not THAT big) as I walk around Japan (where I live... overseas shipping was completed in about 1 week, so good job there).

What's especially nice is that the beverage sleeve will also hold most commercial water bottles, so you're not limited to the included Nalgene bottle. I can buy a Coke and slide that in there instead, if I want to.

One thing to keep in mind is that the water bottle does add its own weight to the pack, and if you have to sit down or bend over it can jab you if you're like me and like to wear the pack front and center. It also has a tendency to swing the bottle to your midline and push the pack to your left as you walk, simply because the bottle, when full, is probably the heaviest portion of the load. This can be uncomfortable, as the bottle can swing and bump against your crotch with each step, so I adjust it to the left or right hip and carry on.

Altogether, it's a great bag and I'm glad I bought it.

4Roomy & convenient  Nov 25, 2008 By Jeanne Couchman
Great practical & roomy pack for hiking--I could carry snack, cell, keys, pepper spray and a camera. Looks more rugged than a lot of other 'dorky' fanny packs. I thought the water bottle addition would come in handy, but on my way driving to the hiking spot, all water leaked out onto the car floor. Will try to sub in a different water bottle next time. Overall, though, happy with the purchase.
