The LifeSpan TR2000-HRC folding treadmill is durable, reliable, and loaded with valuable features, helping you walk, jog, or run with confidence in the comfort of your own home. The award-winning treadmill's pleasing design includes wraparound handlebars, which let you control your speed and incline without ever removing your hands from the handlebars. As a result, you can run or walk without losing your concentration or balance while adjusting your pace. The TR2000-HRC is also built for comfort and power, with a 2.5-horsepower motor, 2.5-inch tapered rollers, a spacious 20-by-56-inch running surface, and a biomechanically sound deck suspension system that supports up to 350 pounds. Plus, the motor is tucked underneath the frame, saving you floor space and letting you get close to the console without stepping on the front hood as you exercise.
The blue backlit LCD display tracks your time, distance, calories, and more.
The centerpiece of the TR2000-HRC, however, is the large blue backlit display, which offers several simultaneous readouts and exercise programs to help you achieve your health and fitness goals. The display tracks your time, current speed, current incline, heart rate, distance traveled, and step count, with four preset quick speed and quick incline buttons helping you get going. More importantly, the console offers a variety of preset workout programs that help you vary your exercise routine--a critical factor for people trying to get in optimal shape. Options include six incline and five speed programs; a decline program that varies your downhill gradients to ease knee and joint pain; a step-counting program that can contribute to your total daily step count; and a distance program that helps you train for an upcoming event.
The treadmill includes a folding frame with an automatic EZ-Drop system.
In addition to the preset programs, the treadmill offers two My Zone heart rate control programs and two custom programs. The My Zone Constant program keeps your heart rate at a constant level--thereby using your heart rate as a fitness tool--while the My Zone Interval program lets you enter your own minimum and maximum hear rate. As you exercise, the treadmill speed and incline will automatically adjust to keep your heart rate at the preferred level. By contrast, the custom programs are fully adaptable to your favored workout formula. That's because you're in charge of setting the speed and incline level for each of the 12 program segments, and then saving them for future use.
Other details include 10 levels of incline and five levels of decline; an EZ-Drop folding system that lowers the treadmill deck to the ground softly and lightly; and an Intelli-Guard automatic safety pause that stops the treadmill belt from moving when no one is walking or running on the treadmill.

Made my own home gym---love it! Aug 27, 2007
By Tina Rodriguez

I switched shifts so I cancelled my gym membership and decided to buy my own home gym...I did not have that much room in our spare room so I looked for a treadmill and bike that would take up little space. After reading reviews on Consumer Reports and Treadmill Dcotor I decided to buy the TR 2000-HRC treadmill. I love it! I can go uphill and downhill, it is super quiet and it gives me the same running surface size as the other treadmills I was looking at but does not have the hood in the front (which I always kicked at the gym!) and takes up more than a foot less space! I have been using it for about 2 months now 4 to 5 days per week and would recommend it not only for the small size but for the quality!

57 year old female happy with this treadmill Jul 30, 2008
By T. Batchison

This is very sturdy. You must step up high to get on the treadmill. I imagine this is because it needs to be higher to accomodate the motor housing under the walking surface. The instruction booklet is easy to read. Being able to change speeds and include both the downhill and uphill features in my workout is great. It is a very quiet treadmill. It is great that my feet do not kick the motor housing when I walk. This is very important if you need to hold on to the hand rail when you walk because you are closer to the front of the walking surface. My only complaint is the way that the console is attached to the treadmill. I think longer screws and also more than two is needed for a more secure attachment. This is a minor detail. I choose to keep this treadmill in one spot because it is heavy. Overall, the treadmill is sturdy and attractive and the controls are easy to read and use. It is easy to fold and unfold. I am very happy with my purchase.

Thank you, Reviewers! Aug 14, 2009
By Scott What a help the reviews on this treadmill have been! My husband and I are both very happy with it. It is in fact quiet enough to watch TV or listen to the radio without irritation, and smooth enough to allow reading a book without strain. It feels solid and secure. The grip areas allow users of different heights to be comfortable. The programs are fine, and function smoothly. I particularly like the ability to walk both uphill and downhill. The manual that came with the machine could have been more detailed and better written, but the machine is well designed enough to make that a minor problem.

good no frills treadmill Mar 03, 2009

Does what I need, basic functions, speed and incline controls and timer/speed displays are all set up well. Noise level is low allowing me to listen to the TV or radio easily.
2 Negatives - I don't like what are supposed to be cup holder/remote control bins. Very poor design. I tie-wrapped an improvised remote control container to the handle. Static shocks have been frequent. Is there a good way to preclude this such as a specific grounding technique?
Overall very satisfied.

I recommend this treadmill May 17, 2011
By Christopher Barton I (Chris' wife) purchased this treadmill in late November 2010 for myself (45 yo) and my 14 yo daughter. Delivery was a bit slow due to winter storms. On arrival, with basic delivery, it is delivered to the door/garage but is not brought in the house. However, I put it on a garden wagon and wheeled it around to the basement doors and dragged it in the house. With some effort, my daughter and I were able to get it set up (more help would be welcome, but it was doable for the two of us). We took care during assembly, following other reviews here, to be sure not to accidentally cut the internal wires that thread through the frame and up to the monitor. Everything worked well right from the start. The treadmill purred along flawlessly for both of us. I'm about 175 pounds, and the treadmill had no issues with me walking or running on it. My only complaint is that the monitor gives speed in minutes per mile and I prefer miles per hour. I made up a little sheet and attached it to the treadmill so I could make easy conversions. We have been applying silicon to the belt monthly. We use it for about 7 hours per week in the winter and when we don't want to run outside (rainy, too muddy, humid, etc).
After a couple months, the machine started to vibrate. I contacted customer service by email. They got back to me the next day with recommendations. When those didn't work, I contacted them again. Again, they responded within a day. They are now sending a replacement motor and a technician. I'll have to update again, but I have every reason based on my interactions so far, to believe that this will be resolved with the machine purring along again soon.
I only gave 4 stars because it is not as rugged as a treadmill at a health club and I don't want to give a false impression that it's the best treadmill available. However, teh health club machines cost at least three times as much. For the price I think this is an excellent product and I would recommend it to others for home use.
