A Superb NB shoe! Feb 12, 2008

This is a great shoe! I was directed to them after visiting a NB store in Raleigh, NC... Michelle, I think her name was. She was watching me walk when I did not know, allowing her to see and show me I was a pronator. I did not know this at all. She directed me to this and told of its vast improvements over the 1222. She said the toe box was made a little larger, they moved the gel to the topside of the sole, and they changed the fabrics to be faster drying. I can feel the toebox increase (I have bunyons, its nice). The gel relocation is like Heaven! It feels like I'm walking on clouds from the first step. The material is very breathable and the shoe is very lightweight.
I HIGHLY suggest these shoes. They are worth the money...and I paid full price in the store!

Nice shoes Sep 22, 2007
By R. E. Merrell I have worn NB shoes in size 11, D width, for years. This time the shoes were a little wider than the others in the front part of the shoe. This is not a complaint . . . just a little quality control info (though I doubt this review will go as far as NB). After this I will order the narrow width.

Great Shoes! Oct 25, 2008
By J. J. Kinens I have had Plantar faciitis for several years. Very painful so that I could hardly walk. I'm a runner, so that was very sad for me. After two years I started to run again because this is the only shoe on the market that allows me to run pain free. These shoes are simply wonderful! Thank you!

Awesome shoes unbelievable price Jun 10, 2008

A couple of years ago I had my running analyzed at a local shoe store to find the right shoe for my running style. Prior to this, I was buying running shoes based on how they looked. Little did I know that each person's foot strike would dictate the type of shoe they needed. My Nike's were giving me shin splints and ankle pain.
The running shoe store found that I over-pronated and that I needed shoes for stability on the inner part of my feet. They recommended the New Balance 1221. After putting those shoes through many miles, I was ecstatic to see the newer model of the 1221 on Amazon as the New Balance MR1223. These shoes not only look great but they also feel great on my feet. My foot problems went away and I enjoyed running a whole lot more.
If you're planning on high mileage running on these shoes, I've been recommended to buy a size to a size and half bigger because feet swell when you run. Overall, I love these shoes.

MR1223 Running Shoes Feb 22, 2008

Very pleased with the shoes but not pleased with Amazon's rather deceptive marketing ploy of selling the same pair of shoes with different prices using misleading description. The New Balance Men's MR1223 Running shoes White/Silver/Blue is exactly the same as the White/Navy/Red but it was sold $18 more. The New Balance website show only two available colors: White/Silver/Blue and Silver/Grey/Green (this is the same as Silver/Grey/Yellow). So, watch out for Amazon's listing of 4 different colors when there are actually only 2 available colors from the manufacturer New Balance.
