Great stability with roomy toe box Jun 28, 2009 Like other reviewers, I sought these out because I wanted a running shoe with more stability. With a sturdy midfoot these are great for overpronators and come in multiple widths. The toe box is nice and roomy and they are perfect for running.
Sizing: While I wear a normal width in all of my other shoes, I buy New Balance running shoes in wide (D)- so if you are trying to decide between two widths I'd recommend the wider choice.
Note: I found that spending 45 minutes to an hour on the elliptical (4-5 miles) I often encountered some toe numbness (tingling) but I think that may be more the equipment than the shoe since I have not had that problem running.

Worth every penny Sep 19, 2008 Hands down, these are the most supportive and comfortable shoes I have ever worn. They are also very light weight, so you hardly know they are there!

Great walking shoe! Aug 28, 2008 These are great shoes; a bit expensive but well worth it. I have had problems in the past with Plantar Facitis(sp) and also shin splints; I've had neither of these problems with these shoes...I actually bought two pair!

Da Bomb! Jul 20, 2008 I purchased our daughter a pair of NB WR1223's a couple weeks ago at the reduced price of $84.90 plus an additional instant $25.00 Amazon discount and all she could say over and over again the rest of the day was, Thanks Dad, these shoes are Tha Bomb!

I love these shoes! Jul 19, 2008 I just received these shoes today and LOVE them. They fit perfectly! I tried them on after being at the gym for the afternoon and then the store which is the right time to try on shoes...after you've been on your feet for awhile.
True to size and width and great for pronators. I can't wait to wear these to the gym and have shoes that FIT!
I love New Balance shoes...the only issue I've ever had is some are not true to size/width..as many shoe brands/styles aren't. I hesitated paying this much for these shoes but they are worth it! :) I also was able to hit a sale so they were slightly less but I'm seriously considering getting another pair in the other color!
