Light weight composite, fiberglass shaft allows good swinging motion. Carbide steel spike is cup shape for best ground contact. Asphalt boot is durable rubber. Boots will last a long ways and replacements are available from WP Inc. and/or distribution partners. Inventory is available in different sizes based on the height of the walker: 42", 44", 46", 48", 50" and 52".

now what? May 08, 2008 I am not disappointed in the poles, but they were sent without proper instructions. I called the distributor directly to complain about straps (clips fell off), not having an instructional DVD, etc. Well he couldn't be more polite and helpful. He is immediately sending out an instructional video and new straps that are better than the ones that came with the poles! No charge! This is the type of company we all want to deal with! I highly recommend these poles.

Walking in Style Aug 31, 2007 For short people like me, this is a perfect fit. I had purchased previously a set of Nordic Walking Poles with adjustable poles. They never seemed to hold right and kept slipping down. I returned those and bought these. They're the right height, and off I go!
