Newly designed for 2008 with a heavy-duty frame and an MP3 plug-in and speakers, the Sole F63 treadmill has earned a reputation as one of the best-quality treadmills in its price range thanks to its unbeatable combination of high-quality components and user-friendliness. The treadmill offers a strong 2.5-horsepower, continuous-duty motor, which delivers challenging speeds of up to 10 miles per hour and inclines of up to 15 percent. The vibrant blue LCD display, meanwhile, closely tracks your workout progress, with information on your speed, incline, time, distance traveled, calories, pulse, and pace. There's even a 1/4-mile digital track that you can follow as you run and a peak-and-valley graph that corresponds to individual programs.

Other details include six preset workouts, including cardio training and fat burning; a large stop switch for safety; a low-profile running hood; speed and incline controls on the armrests; armrest cooling fans; and a 20-by-55-inch running surface. Perhaps most conveniently, however, the treadmill deck folds into a compact footprint and locks into place when not in use, thereby saving a ton of storage space. The F63 treadmill, which offers a user capacity of up to 325 pounds, carries the following warranties: 20 years on the motor, three years on the deck, lifetime on the frame, three years on the electronics/belt/rollers, and one year on the labor.

About Treadmills
Walking is still considered one of the most beneficial cardiovascular exercises for people of all ages, body types, and fitness levels. As a fundamental form of aerobic training, walking has numerous physical benefits for the heart, lungs, and circulatory system, while also increasing muscle tone and burning fat calories. Treadmills provide a convenient way to regularly exercise in all weather conditions in the comfort and safety of your own home.

From beginners just starting an exercise regimen to advanced athletes looking to maintain their fitness level, anyone interested in getting and staying in shape can benefit greatly from regular use of a treadmill. Treadmills allow you to determine the pace, distance, and complexity of the workout based on your needs, all while watching television, talking on the telephone, or reading a magazine. Much easier on sensitive joints like the knees and hips, treadmill walking and running surfaces are typically long, padded platforms that allow ample room for a long stride and comfortable, low-impact walk or jog without the harsh contact of a concrete surface.

While many different types, styles, and price ranges of treadmills exist, many of them offer unique features like a fold-up design for easy storage, an electronic display monitor showing speed, distance, workout time, incline level, and burned calories, and EKG grip pulses to monitor the heart rate while exercising. Regardless of the simple to complex features you may choose, treadmills offer an array of aerobic exercise opportunities that will provide long-lasting beneficial cardiovascular results without a commute to the gym or a jog in the rain.

4sole 63 good, but noisy  Mar 15, 2008 By irina
i bought my sole from amazon about a month ago. got it in within several days (although i was prepared to wait for a 2-week delivery), managable installation (took me and my boyfriend ~1 hour to have it set up). works well, the only thing i was really disappointed with is the noise level.

it is supposed to be the 'whisper drive, quietest motor', but it's not. it's a great treadmill, but i guess it works best if you can stick it in the basement of your own house. I live in an appartment complex, there are people below me, and i'm pretty sure they can hear my exercise equipment quite well. not even me jumping on it, but the motor itself. sounds pretty much like a vacuum cleaner. i actually had a technician come in and replace the motor (the waranty is quite good about that) to see if it changes the noise level, but it did not. it seems like that's just how they are supposed to be.

the pictures of the girl running on the treadmill while the the guy is watching TV right next aren't true - it is not at all that quiet. so when you go to Dick's to try it out before you order it online (like i did), be aware of the fact that it's one thing how quiet they sound in a huge open space of the crowded store environment, and how it's going to be in your way smaller bedroom/living room/basement.

other than that, it's a great threadmill! :)

5This is the treadmill for you!  Jun 19, 2008 By MAX&BETTY
O.k. I have done my jogging outside in very hot and cold weather. I've run 2-3 miles to a marathon. I've lost weight and gained weight. So I was like you looking for a treadmill to get back in shape. Read all the reviews on Amazon, went to the various treadmill web sites, treadmilldoctor, sole.com, etc, visited the stores and looked dorky testing them out there too.
I finally decided to go with the Sole F63, the one I purchased was through Dick's Sporting Goods and I got the second floor delivery -it was included (buy the delivery into your home-no matter what this is a beast to lift). Putting it together was no problem and the operation has been perfect.
I use it about everyday for an hour. I'm a heavy jogger and I can say without a doubt this is a great machine. I use both the adjustable levels for speed and inclines and no complaints. This is a quiet machine even if this "tubby" jogger is on it.
I live on a second floor of an apartment and it is solid and does not shake.Regarding the price and my research on treadmills I can say it is true you get what you pay for $1000 bucks is a lot but it really has gotten me back in to the groove of running again.
I rarely right reviews but I want to share this because I too was looking for someone to say, "hey, this one fits your needs and will grow with you". Hope this helps.

5Excellent Value  Jul 16, 2008 By Bob G
My wife and I bought this treadmill about five weeks ago from Amazon and I am very pleased with it.
I use it 4 or 5 days a week myself for 1 hour. It gives a solid workout, much more than I got just walking for an hour on my own.
Here are what I consider to be the biggest pros:
1. Solid piece of equipment and well constructed. It seems to be very durable
2. The power incline goes up to 12% and speed goes to 12 mph, which is greater than comparable products
3. The warranty is better than comparable and some higher priced products
4. Assembly was quite easy, which I did myself
The cons are relatively minor but are worth mentioning:
1. the built in speakers are a joke. I tried them once only
2. the built in fans are very weak. They do stir the air a bit but certainly aren't going to cool you off
3. despite it's "whisper quiet drive" it's still pretty loud. I crank the tv volume up about 50% higher than normal to hear it
4. Amazon's free delivery is to the curb only via a freight company. I foolishly thought it would be in enough pieces I could carry them inside myself and assemble it. Wrong. The main piece weighs about 200 lbs and there is absolutely no way you are moving it without help and your help needs to be strong.

All in all, I am very happy with this treadmill and would buy it again. As a side note, I have never used it for running, only walking, so I can't comment on it's functionality for that.

1Too Many Problems  Aug 01, 2008 By Curt J. Carlson
I bought this treadmill last November and it worked great for the first five months but since then it has had a bad control board and now a bad motor. Sole is very slow to get this (under warranty) machine fixed for me. Today is the 68th straight day that is has been out of service. I will avoid Sole/Spirt products from now on.

4So far so good!  Apr 27, 2008 By Ellen
I've had my treadmill for about a month, and so far I have absolutely no buyer's remorse at all! I don't know how it would be as a running treadmill, since I only use it for walking and use the incline to make the workout more intense. I paid the extra $ to have the delivery people set it up. They got here when they said they would and set it up perfectly -- no complaints there! I'm having a lot of fun with my new toy and getting fitter besides. Even the MP3 player speakers work better than I expected. BTW, although I'm a female under five feet tall I have no trouble lifting up the treadmill to fold it as long as I use proper lifting technique.
