Great Knee Pads Jul 14, 2007
By William Brotherton I am an older skater (mid 30's) and these are the best pads I have ever owned. As good as the best technology (Pro Design) we had back in the 80s/90s for a very reasonable price.

These are great for roller derby Aug 07, 2008

I use these knee pads for roller derby and they are fantastic. We do lots of falling drills where we go down on one or both knees from a full speed skate, and these feel like landing on pillows. They are a little more pricey than other knee pads, but well worth it.

Derby must-have. Nov 30, 2011
By Pitbull I've played roller derby for a little over a year now. When I first joined, I had some Protec pads. I injured my right knee from a hard knee fall. I then moved on to some Vectors because they seemed to have much more cushion. I injured the other knee with a similar hard fall. I've had the TSG's for about 6 months, and I have little to no knee pain. They have the perfect amount of padding, but don't stick out and interfere with cross-overs. In my opinion, the TSG III's are the best for derby!

Can't feel a thing... Oct 01, 2010
By kbrown1026 I got these as my first set of pads for Roller Derby. While first trying out, I was using pro-tec pads. Very thin cushioning. If you weren't falling on purpose, you definitely felt it. Ordered these TSG's and happy as can be. No matter which direction I'm falling, I'm landing on clouds. I gave them a four simply because the pads move a bit if you fall at an angle so I have to readjust them. Not that big of a set back, though.
Excellent for roller derby Feb 02, 2012
By jenipants These knee pads are excellent. I have had a pair of TSG Force II pads for the last 4 years and used them at least 3 times a week for roller derby. They are secure, extremely comfortable to skate in (even with crossovers!), comfortable to wear, easy to put on (you can put them on AFTER your skates!), durable, and offer extreme protection. I have never had a knee injury with them and I do *a lot* of aggressive skating. The kneecaps are attached by an indistrial velcro and I have never had one of the caps fall off in my 4 years of the TSG IIs. The TSG IIIs that I recently purchased have an even more secure design. TSG does sell alternative kneecaps in various prints (ex: white, leopard, and checker print) however as soon as they hit the ground the design scrapes off (except for the white kneecaps).
I purchased the large kneepads and they work extremely well for my thicker legs and calves (I wear a size 14). They have a lot of stretch but are reinforced so that they won't stretch out anytime soon.
Falling on these kneepads is like falling on a hug. You feel NO impact; it's beautiful. I recommend these kneepads to all of my skaters. Definitely well worth the price! They're at least $20 more expensive from most skate shops anyhow. BUY THESE, you will NOT regret it!
