Not water resistant Dec 16, 2008 I like this watch for walking, but when I accidently got it wet, it immediately filled up with water and died.
It says 50m water resistant on the cover.
Very Good Watch Sep 16, 2008 I bought this watch for cross country. The shipping was extremely fast. When it arrived I noticed that it was packaged a lot better than the other reviews stated. I started playing around with the watch and was highly impressed with all the features it has. The pedometer setting is very accurate and once the correct running and walking strides are inputed the distance and speed calculater were right on the mark. Over all I'm very impressed on how many functions it has for its very low price.
Nice product Sep 06, 2008 I had two Casio Ex 50's. They were watch pedometers that Casio made probably 15 or 20 years ago. Both had finally failed. They were true pedometers, in that they actually recorded each foot-fall. Until I found the Accelerator, I could not find a 'watch' that did that. There are plenty of pedometers that you attach to your waist, but no watch pedometers that I could find. Entering data is a little complex. You need to know your stride length. One of the easiest ways to measure this is to run through some water at your normal speed and continue on dry pavement. Stop and measure the foot marks you left with your wet shoes, left toe to right toe. This is your stride length. Do this a few times and take the average. This obviously varies with the speed you run, but for general jogging where you are pretty constant with your speed it works great. I'm still not sure about a couple of things, but it does what I want.
Very reasonable price.
Good Sep 03, 2008 It beeps whenever you hit any button (except the light) which can be a pain if you have to change a setting in public.
I believe it's pretty accurate, you do have to calibrate it which I didn't do wonderfully.
The menu/navigation is not really that bad at all. It just takes a couple minutes to realize that it's all the same consistent system.
Cost Effective Watch Aug 30, 2008 I bought the Tech4O several weeks ago for the incredible sum of $17. All I can say is that it is really worth it! The instructions for use are somewhat cumbersome, and do require reading skills (!) - it's no plug and play. But, once you learn the logic you can use it for timing, lap chrono and distance/speed/calorie measurement.
The accelerator is up to 5% off, but this could improve after finer calibration.
