To a cyclist, riding a century, completing a tour, and going for long training rides takes time. A cyclist's best friend during long rides is usually comfort and one of the best places to start is with your shorts. The women's Century short is made from a soft stretchy fabric that feels like cotton, the 88% polyester/12% nylon material supports and compresses your leg muscles during exercise to reduce fatigue. The cycling pad is one of our thickest (11mm) and the dense foam construction provides lasting support during long rides and tours. Soft silicone leg grippers will help keep the pad in place after each pedal stroke and the 8-panel construction allows the short to form perfectly to your leg. All seams feature smooth, flat lock stitching and all shorts are made in the USA.

BUY THESE!!! Aug 28, 2009
By kt_simms I think that says it all. Buy these.
I purchased these shorts to wear during my training for my first triathlon. I've been using a recumbent bike thus far simply because I don't have a road bike. While riding, my butt would start to tingle and then it would become painful and I'd have to stop. Well, you can't build endurance when you have to stop, so a friend recommended padded bike shorts.
I got these because they come in plus sizes, because I felt like they were acceptably priced for plus-sized bike shorts, and because they have padding in the right places. They fit perfectly...not too tight but not loose. The padded crotch made my rides, even on my recumbent bike, so much more comfortable. Not even a tingle this time and that encouraged me to ride for longer than I'd planned.
I was a bit concerned about the legs... that they'd be too tight to be comfortable while riding or that they'd roll up while I was pedaling. But they didn't! The inside of the legs has this blue elastic that keeps them in place. It doesn't cling to the skin or pinch or anything like that.
The only other concern I had was about the seams. They're wonderfully stitched, but there are seams running down the middle of the legs in both the front and the back. I was worried that, after a little riding, I would start to feel like the seams were kind of grinding into the backs of my thighs... but that didn't happen either. It was great.
I've been so pleased with them. If you're looking for bike shorts and you looked at these, BUY THEM! Your butt will thank you.

I have purchased other riding shorts but these are certainly the most comfortable bike shorts I've tried. I would definitely recommend this product to those who are serious cyclists. Great for long distances.

Great fit. Comfortable short. Apr 10, 2010
By Peggy Fereday I found these shorts to be very comfortable. I have never owned a pair of bike shorts, so I had to use the sizing chart to figure out what size to buy. I found the fit of these shorts to be true to size. Even after a hot, sweaty ride, the seams or rubber leg strips did not irretate me. The waist did not slip down, nor did the legs ride up. The heavier padding makes long rides more comfortable. Resently, I went on a twenty mile bike ride in windy 30 degree weather. I put a pair of thermal tights over these shorts and was still very comfortable with the heavier padding. The only negative is that they take longer to dry when I hang them up after washing, so I intend to buy an extra pair to have on hand.

I'm not an avid bike rider, but have some pelvic floor/sacrum issues that ignited after my knee replacement. Riding my stationary bike was one of the best exercises for my leg as well as getting my conditioning and endurance back,(in rainy Oregon). But... no pun intended.... my bottom and issues in my pelvic floor were getting worse. A padded seat for my bike wasn't comfortable, so I thought maybe bike shorts would work!! Ta DA!! They did and they do, I can do my 45 min work out, without experiencing the pain when dismounting my bike like I use to. I will also be using these when paddling my kayak. They work good under my loose hiking/outdoor pants. Well worth the price. They should last a long while as long as I use the care and washing instructions. Great purchase for me!! Now I can feel like I CAN get out and ride for real again with my husband.
